Smokey, Sheba and Bugsy got to try out the new barn enclosure for the first time today. Rebecca put up the tie rings (she's handy with a drill ) - gate and hay racks still outstanding - then they all came in for a bite of hay and a brush.
They were all nicely settled too - the visibility is good and obviously so is the ventilation. We don't routinely bring the ponies in to stay, but it will be nice to have the option if this winter is really foul. And it's good to have a dry tie-up area for grooming, vet and hoof-trimmer.
I'm sure we'll continue to make minor modifications as we use it - oh, and they'll be turfed out in March whatever the weather, to make way for the lambing pens.
