Hi Evelin,
The winters here certainly aren't as severe as they used to be a few decades ago, and we can depend on a few weeks of mild weather during December and January. In fact I have a slight fear that it's not going to have been cold enough for the garlic this year since it's so mild, but we'll see.
Enjoy your garlic - at the very least try it roasted in some olive oil then spread on some toasted bread or mashed into a baked potato, it's a real treat.

(kinda a few days behind, here, but since dh just introduced me to this blog ... )
I planted garlic for the first time this year ... doesn't seem to be MUCH different in Maryland, USA than it does over there .... except I had to plant in October. If I'd waited until December the ground would have been frozen and covered with snow this year!
I can't wait to pull it up and try it in July, though!!!
