CorrieDhu brought Breeze and Blizzard home tonight, which was good of her. Both loaded like a dream - well, Breeze did. Blizzard was a little more difficult.surprise. Hopefully, both are in calf.

Breeze was AI'd on 15th August, using Stanemore Odin, and hasn't been seen to come back into season by either me or Viking, the bull they have been running with. If she held then, she will be due around the 25th May.

Blizzard was served by Collafirth Viking on 19th September, so was 21 days on Monday. Viking has paid no attention to her over the weekend or this week. If she had held, she's due around 29th June.

I will phone the vet tomorrow to arrange their TB test and scans for w/c 24th October.

They are in the field right in front of the house (and right next to John and Linda's caravan) and they were bawling a bit, but I expect that's just because they haven't settled back yet (hope so, anyway). They both had a good drink and started munching, and I haven't heard them for an hour. For John and Linda's sake, I hope they shut up smiley.

Funny thing is, before they went away, Breeze was the boss. Now, Blizzard seems to be head honcho. Both were bottom of the herd hierarchy at CorrieDhu's though.

Anyway, better go and do the movement notification.

Breeze and Blizzard look like two calves that we saw on Shetland when we had our Anniverssary trip, their Sire had a lovely temperament if it is them.

Yes, it would be them, I'm sure. David Smith, who bred them, said Ertie (their sire) had an exceptional temperament. I believe Ertie has now "gone to Aberdeen", which seems to be a euphemism for going to slaughter.

Do you have Shetlands?
