My brassicas were doing fine till those pretty white flying things found a way in - and out. So my hens are enjoying what is left while I try to find closer woven netting. That bed is now free.
My onions are all inside now, half that bed has been planted with different types of lettuce, so half of that bed is free too.
Any ideas what I can plant now?

I've sown some lamb's lettuce and winter radishes; still have some rather late parsley and sprouting broccoli to go in, too. (My cabbages are somewhat "holey", too....)
-
I think the netting is better in the big bed where the onions were so might try broccoli there.
Still have some peas, beans, beetroot and potatoes to harvest and lots of different kinds of tomatoes - red, yellow, purple (boy are they sweet!)

another month or so and you could put some broad beans in for an early crop in june!!!
-
I could - if I liked them :innocent:

Broad beans..... Ughhhh.... Easy to grow.... But I'd struggle to eat them. Ever since I was for ed as a kid. I'm getting some new onion sets in over the next few weeks.
-
To be honest I have loads of onions so don't need any more.
-
I can never have enough... courgettes on the other hand........
-
I gave myself severe heartburn last night and can still taste the onions from my baked potato with cheese and onion. Half way through a bottle of coke :innocent: Brushed my teeth 6 times - can still taste it - just a teensy red one too. :eyelashes:

i'm growing loads of komatsuna, wa wa chai cai, pak choi and tsai tai - great tasting greens for winter

Depending where you are, it might be worth trying some spring cabbage. They should be sown July/august so you'd need to be quick.
