Our first lambs!
« on: April 26, 2010, 10:48:59 am »
Hi everyone!

Thought I'd share the newest editions to our flock with you.  We've only had sheep a couple of months, and the ewe we bought in-lamb dropped two lovely little ones yesterday morning.  A ram and a ewe who have been named Atlas and Annie.  Hopefully they'll be registered with the Ryeland FBS in a couple of weeks. :)

We were told to expect ours on the 17th, you can imagine how frustrating it was having that day come and go! They are DEFINITELY worth the wait!

A nice pair of lambs. Don't forget to put the rings on their tails within the first seven days, we aim for three if they are o.k..
I think the registration letter for Ryeland rams this year is N so you'll have to think of a name for him beginning with that letter.
All the best.

Sorry Rosemary, on page 5 of Vol 77 Ryeland Flock Book 2009 year letter for 2010 is N, 2011 is P & 2012 is S.

I know it is confusing, but the letters do not always follow.

We've got that all sorted - the ear tags will be here by the end of the week, so we'll do the tails and ears at the same time.  The paperwork is on the way from RFBS, and we've got his registered name in the pipeline!

Mixing in lambs ewes with new mums/lambs, advice please
