Would beer help?
« on: November 24, 2012, 08:13:46 pm »
The pigs are going on Monday and I'm wanting it all to go as smoothly as possible.  The abattoir has said they won't go in first because they are black and the pink pigs go in first (something about the tank).  I've read a few times that beer helps them in times of stress (personally wine works for me!) so would I be able to give them some beer or am I over thinking?  I know it may sound stupid to some but I have to ask.

They should be fine sober. My pigs are always very calm on the day it's usually me that could do with a drink.

;D   ;D  good idea, get to the pub.

Think it's usually cider (could add to the flavour?) when they are due to give birth so they lie down more easily, don't suppose it would affect anything, think it's just addrenaline (spelling?) that taints the flavour.  But I'm with you - rather go pi*&%d.
