Dagging sheep.  Compared to previous times it was a doddle.  Dry sheep, dry bottoms and dry yard.  The trimming stand is paying for it's expensive purchase price by saving both stress on the sheep and my back.  Just the two rams to do now and they can wait until a vet visit later this week as we need to take bloods for mv testing on the bought in one.

I cannot be normal as it went so well and was so satisfying, that I have enjoyed doing it.

bimbleing around the electric fenced paddocks today checking them , I was surprised by the amount of ladybirds , and listening to the birds, seemed to take forever and only fell over a million times :o

Getting p'd off by my neighbour's latest land grab (about 3m along an entire boundary fence of a hundred metres or so) and wondering what I can do about it...

Discovered that it's very important to keep your mouth shut when dagging gimmers  :yuck: .

My telephone rang this morning. In the end I answered it, the voice said " We hear you're retired " I confirmed this, " This is XXXXXX  Ltd , we think you could help us out with a problem we have, rather we would like you to help us if possible ".
Hmmm I rather enjoy pottering about the place, looking at trees, playing with the animals and stuff.
Its a toughie , there's an offer of money and its even part time, I might go along even if its for the free lunch ( As we know they don't exist ! )
But , one mind says stay at home and annoy Mrs RTB  , the other mind says its good to get out once in a while.
I;'m going to think about it for a couple of days , so lets have the pro's and con's of working in retirement

! - It stops you annoying Mrs RTB
2 - Contact with other people outside of the house
3 - Gives the wife some time to miss you
4 - Helps stop you getting in a rut
5 - Stops you annoying the missus
6 - Gives you another perspective on life
7 - Gives Mrs RTB some peace
8 - Better than taking up golf.

Intentional... double ditch with boundary bank between them - they've flattened the bank into their ditch and gained about 3m along a 100m boundary... I'd planted saplings on my side of the boundary bank last autumn to replace the original hedging that SSE annihilated a couple of years ago.  Of course my field is fenced this side of my ditch (because of the regulations about keeping livestock away from water courses... they don't fence their arable fields...

As for home bakes it wouldn't work.  He once described me as some who "dressed to kill and cooked the same way"... It's true that I'm the worst cook known to  :dog: and I don't cook for those I like... so maybe I should send an anonymous gift of home bakes...  Maybe I should buy some  :pig: :pig: :pig: first though to ensure I can dispose of the evidence (neighbours not home bakes; I wouldn't want to poison the  :pig:)!
