I just went out to the local post office with todays baaath time deliveries and sure enough the heavens opened and a hail storm like I've never seen hit us!
Several cars skiddadled over the roads and the poor Yr5 children from school were all huddled under a tree as they'd been out doing their cycling proficiency tests!

I looked down at the 2 gear knob thingies in my landie and decided that now is the time to learn what the smaller of the two actually does....(left that one till the last minute, didn't I?)  ;D

Most definitely in the Highlands but, yes, we had our first snow since March 2012 (yes, really) yesterday morning - a light sprinkling that got washed away by torrential rain later in the day. Snowline was down to about 500 feet but has now disappeared (ie. to over 1500 feet)

It's now blowing a gale, with occasional sleaty hail.

Light sprinkle in Inverbervie yesterday, which was gone by this morning. Just a few miles out from us nothing at all...

That second knob (ooh err) is jolly useful, I wouldn't be able to get to and from our house on the hill without it most winters....(also if something shears off your gearbox arms halfway to an abbatoir going over the Lecht ski area in the early hours of a January morning, and you lose all the high ratio gears, you can get there and back on those second knob low ratio gears!! )

Yeh, got a bit this morning, gone during the day, snowing again just now but very wet and it's warmed up so I don't think it'll settle.

I'd like it to go back to cold and crisp - I love the blue skies and the hard ground!

Snowed here on Skye earlier this week, light dusting/1cm on the cars at our low lying area. Higher up there was a reasonable covering and the mountains looked great. Mostly gone except for the peaks now.

We have had quite a bit of snow and the lanes don't look good. We have booked a table to eat out tonight ( first time since the OH had her RTA in July) but Chris does not want to chance walking with her crutches on ice or the drive on country lanes.
Snow is forecast on and off for the next week but the daytime temperatures are predicted to be above 0 C. - not too bad really.

It was forecast for Telford earlier this week but the sun shone instead. That was in between the hailstorms. It's very cold and rainy now.

Some right down here in Kent last night but not enough to last. Been cold though - frozen hosepipe and drinkers which is not a fun combination. Friends in Switzerland have been posting photos on FB of the snow they're getting there and it looks like a decent amount - just hope it's not headed this way. Still got some chicken house roofs to attach.
