As per previous post, ma heid is nippin'.
Ordering the eartags for this year's lambs was easy. Then I decided that I should at least HAVE tags for all the older sheep, even if they aren't in their ears. So began a long conversation with Louise at Ketchum Manufacturing, where we get our tags from. Finally, this morning, I was able to phone Louise back with the missing bits of information - the individual number for Lyra and the flock number for Juno, Jura and Jinx. She's now put together the order and we've checked it carefully (fingers crossed).
I should get the tags early next week, so I'll do the ewe lambs and possibly the others when we inject them with Heptavac. I probably need to make sure every sheep has one tag, apart from the three originals, who both Dan and I can recognise easily. The white ones are harder to distinguish than coloured lambs, for obvious reasons. The whole tag exercise has made me annotate the registration certificate for each sheep with its UK flock number and individual number, just in case.
So, I'd heartily recommend Ketchum - Louise has the patience of a saint and is very, very helpful. Sorted!
