Only just got it in the ground, they are about 6 inches high, I saw someone elses and its about 3 feet high, made me feel depressed.

Mine have been in the ground a month and are little more than 6" so you're not alone - cats dug up 2 of the 8 aswell so like the tomatoes they're on my bad list this year

My first lot all died, so my second lot have just gone in.  Mine are smaller than yours!  (Does that make you feel better?  LOL.  I hope so)

I've got sweetcorn for the first time this year so don't know what to expect (except hopefully corn of course ha ha) mine are about 6 inches tall and the cats have left them alone remarkably.  Is it true I'll only get one cob per plant if I'm lucky?

I planted a whole packet. Only three germinated, then a slug ate two. The final one is now about 5" tall despite having been on the go for months now.

See? Cheer up! There's always somebody out there doing worse than you!
