Lamb time

This is the first time i have ever sold lambs for my first year , My lambs where all born in June-July time and i have a couple of people interested in buying some lambs off me that they will take and get buchered them selfs i was just wondering what sort of age they will be ready to go and when is best as they will all be tagged and ready by this weekend , Thanks S.knox

What breed are they? that makes all the difference.

i have 1 shetland lamb male and 2 scotch mule cross male

I would say your mule crosses will def be ready, I have sent Shetland tup lamb before and although small the flavour was amazing. Shetlands are usually slaughtered at around 18 months.  It may not be easy getting them into an abattoir at this time of year though.

Not a question of what age to kill, more  how big , heavy and how fat you want them to be to suit your tastes
