Stopped laying
« on: May 18, 2010, 03:06:04 pm »
Hi

Of my 5 hens (3 ex-bat, 2 POL Copper Stars) I have had up to 4 eggs a day - I am fairly sure on of the ex-bats has not layed any since they arrived.

But in the last week only one of the Coppers is laying every day, the other 3 have stopped completely. They have water all day, layers pellets in the mornings, greens and potatoes through the day and grain at night. They all look healthy and perky. Any ideas?

Funny enough, I have been between 8-10 eggs down per day recently.  I have put it down to the weather going cooler.  Yesterday, was the first warm day, and guess what?  Yes, back on full production.
