I have 5 sows to farrow around christmas time and was wondering would an 8x8 semi circular ark with a curved corrugated iron roof be ok or would it be to cold.

Will you have a farrowing rail? It should be warm enough if you give the sow a good amount of bedding that she can arrange in the ark. It's quite amazing just how much heat a full grown pig can generate in it's house,so long as they have a floor and it's draught free.
