Hello from west wales
« on: November 28, 2021, 10:43:27 am »
Hi all, my name is Callum and my wife is Freya, we currently rent our home in Wales, aberystwyth but we are looking to renting a pice of land locally to start a veg and salad business. but we are finding it hard to rent land, i work in a hospital and my wife a petrol station, so buying land is not an option for us unfortunately, so i though about coming here to see if any knows of welsh rent to own land or has land that is unused to rent. thank you all.

I hope you manage to find somewhere - have you thought of an allotment - they are few and far between - and i dont know your area, just looking at mine. but there are still allotments around here which are suitable for producing grub

I'm just down the coast in cardigan, i can see the transmitter in aber in good weather ;)

Being "in the know" is priceless, so my suggestion would be to find a local grower you can go and volunteer with, join the local smallholding / growers associations, make some contacts, get yourselves known amongst the local landworking fraternity.  Then hopefully you would hear about land which might be going to come up, or someone might take a shine to you and offer you the use of a bit of their land.  Good luck!
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
