Having my first go at trimming away pockets caused by shelly hoof under the supervision of a knowledgeable neighbour.  Hopefully all now under control, otherwise my hand muscles are going to have to toughen up considerably!

Yesterday I managed to see my big bro who is heading for the big small holding in the sky .
We laughed and joked like old times , recalling the daftest of things , gave each other a big man's hug .

Though this may be  the last time  as I'm likely to be unable to travel for a few months in the very near future .

Spent today recovering from the  very very wind swept rains wept 180 mile round trip .
Later this afternoon I watched Alison  start her first solo attempt at  Bonsai on a mini box shrub . She transformed a  scrubby straggly thing into a future art form .

Suddenly the world order has been restored for me ....... it carries on ..

thanks :-) no she is a lot better, still a bit weak on her front legs but we're getting there. This was a goat who came down with anaemia, it was so fast, one day she was a bit off colour an off her feed, next day she was down and dead :-(
I have spent the last couple of days checking gums and eyes and ordering mineral drenches.

I have decided to follow the ' Scottish Old New Year ' which is on the 12th January as the start of my year so the last few days don't count

Having a lie in, due to not feeling well. Keep getting headaches, so I might book an appointment at the docs. Weather has gone nicer, so a bit later I may start work on the garden. Just trying to take it easy for now :(

Wondering with a little trepidation to see what the results of my CT scans will reveal when I see the specialist on Wednesday.

Digging a trench across the hardcore in front of the back door to stop the house flooding. Not easy with nowt but a mattock and one wrecked hand. Am now warming up with a coffee and suspect wine may be needed later for medicinal purposes.
Our holding has Anglo Nubian and British Toggenburg goats, Gotland sheep, Franconian Geese, Blue Swedish ducks, a whole load of mongrel hens and two semi-feral children.

Hope you feel better soon clydesdalehopper. I have been cleaning out buildings today, worn out and knackered. The wind won't stop >:(

Trekking through mud to feed animals, slipped and badly sprained my ankle. It feels stretched and so sore and weak; if its not better within a few days then to the Drs it'll be.

crikey you're not having an easy time of it!

I made the most of the ground being as hard as concrete with frost and mucked out the horsebox in readiness for dad turning up with a load of hay unannounced as he usually does!
Oh and got my sitting room vaguely back to normal (tree and decorations down) despite having the contents of my loft in the sitting room after getting new insulation put in  :relief:

doing what I said in my last post... another round of tidy up and fix stuff after these incessant storms of various names , just wondering when the weather will improve, will the boffins name the next sunny spell "Sally" or something  :sunshine: just a thought.
fabric wise the only casualty this time has been a greenhouse, victim of the wind, not enough snow to test the new roof ( yes I know , careful what I wish for,) so I've been pottering around picking up next doors rubbish that escaped from their bins, then having run out of excuses did the tax return, no idea if its right I'm too befuddled to care anyway. Now I think I will join the goats for some sparkling conversation (this is only possible with the drugs I'm on )

better step away from the keyboard now
