Day 150
« on: April 30, 2013, 12:36:29 pm »
Well, flora my British toggenburg is due today, looking like a beached whale but no real signs of imminent arrival  . Trying very hard not to keep going out to check her as a watch pot never boils  :innocent: . going to have a little peek then think about lunch.

:huff:  Nothing yet, rear end looks a little puffy, she can't walk properly as her udder is very large. Went into town to do a bit of shopping just to stop me keep looking. Will check again in a couple of hours. I have my money on about 5am and twins :eyelashes:  but OH has his money on 9am. Watch this space, could be a disturbed night :fc:

That's where I found my camera sooooo useful.Especially for the 5am checks - my GG did kid at 5am - I watched one of them being born on the camera, by the time I got dressed (it's still too cold to run there in my PJ's) and down to the shed No 2 was already being licked dry...
But even during the day having the camera on meant that I could get on with things in the house and keep an eye - most of mine actually don't like me being there watching them...
Hope it all goes OK!

WE bought a Foscam Indoor wireless IP camera and also a TP link (Amazon I´m afraid) so we could get the data to the laptop (no telly in our house), using our broadband router and the normal electric cable running to the goat shed. I am a complete techno-idiot in these things, OH set it all up - he was keen on less disrupted níghts too...
Has got infrared too, so no need to keep the lights going all night!

But presumably all ready to pop - udder, pink and swollen backend, hollow sides? I had one of mine go over by two days - she kidded the day when I was supposed to be in Newcastle...
Have you got an important appointment to keep today or tomorrow   - that's when she will kid! ;D
