Making the most from my rhubarb
« on: May 06, 2009, 04:44:19 pm »
Hi, I have some rhubarb growing in my garden which I have started making jam from. Problem is I have to go away for about a month though and want to maximise what I have. Would I get a better crop from it if I just leave it to grow for the time I'm away and cut it when I get back or would I get more if I cut it now, froze this and then cut what grew when I get back? Hi garry, if you have new buds forming I would cut the long stalks now now to encourage them to grow on while you are away.
