« on: November 18, 2011, 11:41:51 pm »

I paid 0.88.9 euros here in France - bought 1000lts - price probably more if less than 1000lts. and with the euro/pound fluctuating between 112 - 114centimes  to the pound thats not as cheap as UK.  Everything is on the up but c'est la vie.

We paid 58p at the begining of October which was the cheapest in our area at that time, lucky with the mild weather I have the heating off most days  :o

I decided I couldn't afford to ask this year so my tank is empty and I'm using the wee open fire and back boiler this year instead - luckily the fallen tree from last winter is keeping me going for now but it's still pretty cold in here, esp the bedrooms where I keep doors closed to exclude cats but sadly don't get any heat through either..

It averages 9-12 degrees in there, about 15-18 in the living room depending on the weather and what time Ilight the fire ;)

Around here in south Wales  lots of people in small villages are in a sort of bulk order multi drop syndicate  and they have agreed to place their order with one supplier .
He sells to them at a few pennies less than those not in the syndicate  .

I think they all agreee to fil up on a set date and estimate their needs a day of so before the fill is ordered as each fill is within the village the costs of delivery are kept down and this is what is reflected inthe price as well as a long term customer bonus

We paid 56p/ltr in beginning July but we order 2500ltrs, this lasts us just over a year and used for heating.
We try to fill up in the summer when its cheaper and before the farmers start buying it up to run their corn dryers. We always shop around now, a lot of the little independents round here have been swallowed up by a big multinational.

i'm on a qtrly top up - they jsut top it up when they are passing.

means I never run out, but the guy came round last week - only 4-5 weeks after the previous visit and he put in 200 litres - which they then charged me 79p a litre for

now, i signed up to the qtrly top up in the expectation i'd get the best price (as they would just top me up when passing rather than arrange a special delivery) but i'm being fleeced, so I'm going to have to call and change the schedule unless they are more realistic with their charges/deliveries.

i find it amazing that the customers companies fleece the most are the ones that try to make things easy for them.
