has anyone lived off generator power longterm? how does it work and is it expensive?
theres a property for sale which isnt on mains electric as the electric company wanted £250k hookup (probably due to remote area)
i know it can be noisy but is it easy to maintain / reliable? or one to avoid? im guessing it diesel powered?
thanks

It will be diesel powered and a lot of the units aren't noisy they just hum, they are very reliable now, but they aren't cheap, the new ones have voltage stability so you can run computers off them and no spikes.

As to cost I don't know our government was paying the fuel bill but IIRC they are only slightly more expensive than the national grid
