if you can get there safely a stiff yard broom will do the trick as well.

I cleared my roof using a drag hoe, I fastened some extra shafts to extend it using cable ties so icould work off a ladder at the gutter line.

Do it at this time of year when the moss is moist it just peels off a treat.

Thinking back I think I then rinsed the roof off with a hose pipe , again cable tied to a long pole and looped back at the end so the jet points down the roof not up under the slates.

This is interesting.
Our officce has a tar & sand  cut shingles roof, it's about 1& 1/2 " thick with moss on the North side.
All manner of birds & the pesky local squirrel have been working through it for insects& bedding
A lot of it that has been loosened has not only blocked the cutter & down pipe, the wind has also blown a lot of the loose stuff into the decorative pond at the rear of it all  , which has led to problems with the ponds water quality .

Now i know that moss likes acidic conditions for if you have small patches of moss on the lawn you sprinkle it with lawn sand which is sand mixed with powdered lime stone & it helps kill off the patch .
I wonder if some lawn sand sprinkled on the mossy roof tonight ( very very calm at present )  will help .
I'll give it a go and let you know what the result is come the middle of June & also at the middle of July .
Strong belief , triggers the mind to find the way ... Dyslexia just makes it that bit more amusing & interesting

i got an ad on facebook the other day for a roof cleaning tool that went on the end of a pole and you can just scrape the moss off https://roofscraper.co.uk/ im interested in buying one but hesitant because of the price. i think i could get someone to clean my roof for cheaper. i heard jet washing can cause damage to a roof. does anyone have any knowledge of  roof cleaning? I have a large buildup of moss in both my gutters and roof and it is always overflowing

I got a local window cleaner to go up and clean mine about two years ago - he also blocked off the chimney as it was broken and I don't use a fire.  I think it cost about 100

You could try going up yourself and see if a song lyric comes to you...
