Are they ever. But my fault really. I positioned myself wrongly and it gave an opportunity to the sow to make a break  for it.... through me. Lesson learn.

At least it wasn't the boar that was with them. He is a big lump and that would have really hurt.
I'm not scared to be seen, I make no apologies. This is me!

Yes i can. Just a little bruising and a battered pride. Luckily the sow was only about 225 Kg. (the bigger sows or boar would have really hurt). We should have known better than to mix the gilts and sows together when trying to get them into the crush. But hey ho. Lesson learned.

Finished my 1957 surge milker restoration project . I left the two dents in it not wishing to distort the mating face of the bucket and rebuilt the pulsator with all new parts and replaced the hoses and swapped the metal clusters for more up to date ones.
So we have a compact milking machine for the shows, vacuum is from a small refrigeration type vac pump fitted with relief valve and gauge. Nice and light and easy to carry at a show.
And the victim  test goat approves of it too.

Also i have been watch a sitting muscovy. We have two females we keep for breeding. One is lovely all the time. The other is always aggressive. Unfortunately its the aggressive one that is sitting.

Dagging sheep.  Compared to previous times it was a doddle.  Dry sheep, dry bottoms and dry yard.  The trimming stand is paying for it's expensive purchase price by saving both stress on the sheep and my back.  Just the two rams to do now and they can wait until a vet visit later this week as we need to take bloods for mv testing on the bought in one.

I cannot be normal as it went so well and was so satisfying, that I have enjoyed doing it.
