Mum used to often have pig trotters  ;) I also remember all those itchy hand knitted jumpers with tight necks and socks that fell down (pants that did too when you used your elastic for French skipping) Buying stuff wrapped in newspaper or brown bags, getting Ginger Bear in Brown jugs with a wire twist top, men wore suit jackets and formal trousers and brilcream!! Oh, how things are a lot different now!!!

Yes my dad was a Brylcreem Boy Annie and yes also a flight Sargent, but after the war. Clever George!  ;D

Par Adua Ad Astra as the fly boys say!!

He also used to use Old Spice and I love the memories that smell evokes although not many men wear it now.  :(

TV programmes I used to watch as a youngster were. Noggin the Nog and Captain Pugwash leading up to Magpie, How and Follifoot.

I used to love Follyfoot - the guy who played Steve was my first crush. No second, after The Virginian. I also loved Belle and Sebastian (really wanted a Pyrenean Mountain Dog) and The White Horses (I also wanted a white horse, which I've got but their's were always sparkely white unlike mine) - took me a long time to learn about dubbing  ;D

No my Dad wasn't a flight sergeant he was a first class airman, similar to a corporal in the army.  He loved it he was stationed in West Africa only 18 and surrounded by naked African women.  He joined up during WWII and was demobbed just before Korea.
