I woke up at 5 am, stayed in bed till 6 and then when I knew I was wide awake I got up and when for a cool morning walk in the sunshine. Did anyone see the mist on the hills? absolutely gorgeous. I was so tired when I was pulling up the rag that I just lay down and shut me eyes for about 10 mins. :tired: Its going to be near 20c today I think

Making handmade horseshoes just for fun ( and it saves a heck of a lot of money) and keeps the skills up to scratch!

cleaning out the ducks and poultry, taking kitten to vet for jag, checking horses and then wrapped up in a duvet nursing a bugger of a sore throat and looking at sheds online.

waiting around while my 7 year old had surgery to remove a piece of Lego he stuck up his nose  ::)
Our holding has Anglo Nubian and British Toggenburg goats, Gotland sheep, Franconian Geese, Blue Swedish ducks, a whole load of mongrel hens and two semi-feral children.

Just come back from England on a business errand and then helped my brother do the milking, knackered now :tired:

I know how you feel too, when I stay away I have to come back after 48 hrs, as there is never anything to do in the city. ::) At least its nice to see your family though eh? I always try and make the best of seeing family, they usually come to stay with me as I can't really leave the farm for more than a few hrs. I always have a cracking time though, its nice to have a break sometimes. When I see my family we always go shopping and then go out for dinner, so that's nice. when I do go away though  I never stay more than two days  and I always have another family member looking after the livestock, usually my bro :)

biting the bullet..  Today is the day to merge the hens into one flock.  I have had 3 hatches this year and so far kept them separate from the main flock. The new ones are roughly at point of lay. The three new groups of 3, 3 and 2 are joining my main flock that has dwindled to 7 over the years and 2 of them are quite old now.
So far, fingers crossed its too hot for fighting.
The boys that have been kept out of the way are none too pleased though.
If you cant beat 'em then at least bugger 'em about a bit.

Oh I so hope that's true but given what a scatter brain he is who knows  ::)
