What time do you eat?
« on: March 05, 2013, 03:11:20 pm »
Hi all

I hope this doesn't sound like a silly question but what time do you sit down to eat your evening meal?

We have been getting later and later, last night it was 7.30pm.  I know the evenings are drawing out and we are spending much more time outside especially with the good weather we've been having but some how I'm going to have to drop tea time back an hour or 2!

About 5 or 6 pm although at weekends can be later, I have a cooked lunch though and normally only soup or a lite snack for tea

Usually somewhere between 7.30 and 8.00 on a good day 9.00 on a bad one. I come in from work then help on the farm and have the dogs to do. I then do the various animals at home ( about 45 guinea pigs, 10 quail and 10 chicken) while hubby gets dinner going and our son generally hinders the whole process by making cups of tea!
Then we all sit down together for dinner

we eat between 7-8 or sometimes later at weekends, I think of the meal as the end to our day, if we eat earlier I end up on here too long :innocent:

We eat at around 8.00 most nights, after getting our 7 year old daughter tucked up in bed. But do have an early tea some nights so we all eat together (especially a sunday)
Like happygolucky it is the end of our day and have an hour chill out time before bed!

Between 7-8 for me too. It all started in the UK when I was working, I wouldnt get home until 6, so by the time I had cooked tea, it was 7, so we had it watching Emmerdale. Now, over here, we are an hour ahead, so we still have our dinner at 8, watching it. Sometimes, if OH is very hungry or if we have skipped lunch for any reason, we will have it nearer to 7.

About 6pm but as its staying lighter it will get later. It gets to a point though where, instead of making it later and later, I bring it forward to about 5pm so that we can go outside again after.

It all depends... On whether I was out working and what time I got back (used to be 5, now on the rare occasion that I do work it's more like 6, or later if I had to do the shopping on the way home); on what I had for lunch and how hungry I am when I get back, and what's on the menu and how long it takes to cook!

In other words, anything between 5 and 8, although I prefer early rather than late.

About 5pm or the kids eat a lot of rubbish when I'm not looking and won't eat their tea.  :D

Two nights we eat separate from the boys as I work so eat around 7.30. The other nights we eat together at around  6.
