No, I cleaned out the pond and now it is crystal clear and Charlie is doing his mating stuff most of the time so they obviously are about ready...just hope she does not choose to lay on top of the Hens nesting places, they have 3 at the moment.......they always seem to be smiling and she shouts, everytime I go outside!!!

I can stroke them but I am not quick or agile enough to pick them up, some one would be able to, I would love to cuddle them, they certainly are amusing, still find it funny that they shelter from the rain and the chickens don't!!

My chickens don't have the sense to go under cover with the rain. Lastnight one group of the ducks came off the river as usual but the other half stayed out much later than normal which started to worry me. They did eventually come back, I think they had been staying out of the road of the geese to be honest.

I've definitely had several small eggs in 2 different colours, so both new girls have started laying!  :&>

no, none of mine are Aylesburys. 1 might be a "pure" Campbell and the other is a cross with an Indian Runner mum (who has gone on an unexplained laying break)  ::)  :&>

Maybe the different breeds then...I know my Black rocks took thier time laying!!!!! the DUcks are sheltering only the chickens roaming around in the wet!!! I found a huge slug (thought it was a big doggy poo) but I found it too disgusting to give to the Ducks, hate the things but usualy collect them from our flower garden and throw them into the birds so they get very excited when they see me amungst the flowers!!!!!

my three ducks are fully mature and I am lucky if I get one egg a day at the moment.  Ducks go off lay about now and come back on in October/November in my experience
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

funny, last year I got 5 out of 5 until October/November, then 3 out of 5 until March. Maybe my Indian Runner has just retired  ;D :&>
