Has winter come early ?
« on: September 13, 2010, 04:18:50 pm »
What a horrible day, pouring outside and started getting dark early afternoon. Said on the news that there would be snow on the mountains. What a thought. I forced myself to tidy the house, then made a big pot of soup, some of it will go in the freezer. The carrots, turnip, leak and potatoes all came from my garden so that gave me pleasure just making it. We are suppose to get wet and windy weather for most of the week, very depressing. My winter straw is waiting to be put inside, at least it is baled so should be ok. Even the chickens are staying in, not so stupid. :chook: :&>

All I want is to have a fire. :'(  *Reminder to self - phone builder to make fireplace for new log burner!

its been very strange weather wise here (warwickshire) one minute its very pleasant the next its either windy or wet or both, central heating has been used several times in august and september which is frankly wrong!!!

please can we have our proper seasons back?

It's been a right miserable day here, so much so, all my birds have stayed inside all afternoon   :o

It's so WARM here - either that or it's my age  ::) Very windy and periodically wet, but very warm.

Very wet and windy here in the Borders, but still feeling quite humid too....

We had our first scraping of the car window actually a couple of weeks ago, on the morning of 31/08 (at 6am I hasten to add and only on the car parked further away from the house)!

But I for one am looking forward to not feel quilty if I stay inside after dinner, as it is dark and the fire is on, and I can do some spinning/weaving/knitting again! (Oh and the poultry is inside before we have our tea!!!!)

Yes, I noticed when I went out tonight that although it was pouring and blowing a gale the car was registering 18 degrees - felt wrong somehow.

It's glorious here this morning. Not a cloud in the sky, bit of a breeze but not cold. Perfect!

It's lovely down here in Devon, you would need a jumper first and last thing but still hot during the day.
