A local farmer took a look for us at a rather aggressive wether to determine if the castration had worked.  It looks like it has and the sheep is a just being a boy.  The farmer tagged the sheep and mentioned that the second bag of tags were to be used for the slaughter house.  Those tags were plastic but I had thought I had read before that abattoir tags were supposed to be metal, can anyone clarify please?

Sheep tags are generally plastic. Metal ones are were generally used for pigs but now the plastic ones can withstand the bath process without losing the number from the tag.
