Hi Miri,
I'm glad the appointment went well and I hope she's able to get things moving quickly for you both. We've had a few appointments with our Paediatrician - I was hopefull she'd make the diagnosis for Kaitlin (could have saved SO much time ;)) but she decided after about 18 months that Kaitlin was a 'complex' case and she wasn't confident of making a diagnosis on her own  :-\ Hence all the faffing about with referalls to specialist ADHD and autism services. We've FINALLY gotten our appointment for 27th April YEE HA !
But here's an example of how 'efficently' things run up here  ::) I phoned to chase up the appointment, "oh yes Mrs McKay, I'll pass your concerns onto the team" a week later I get a letter saying they're now able to offer an appointment and if I still want to go ahead can I phone the number. So I phone the number, expecting to make an appointment, "oh right, I'll pass that on to the team" another week later another letter comes through with the appointment - BUT I still have to phone to confirm that this is suitable. So by my counting that's three phonecalls and 2 letters to acomplish what could have been done in 1 phonecall - how's that for best use of NHS resources  >:( (Sorry :-[ Rant over !)
How did the crainial massage go by the way ? Was the week following it any better this time round ?

Typical NHS Karen, but at least you have the appointment to look forward to.  I felt so much more positive when I had a date to work towards.  Harry has had a tough week after the Cranial Osteopath.  Infact he was in the School's Out Club last Tuesday and pushed a child who hit his head on a door frame and needed butterfly stitches.  Why is it always Harry?  The two of them were just mucking about and it was an accident, but somehow accidents like this follow Harry around!

I finally got the letter I've been waiting for this morning  ;D ;D ;D
Kaitlin has been offered a place in the Autistic centre at a nearby school, starting after the summer break. I know it's maybe not everyone's idea of great news, but I'm so happy that at last she'll get more 1 to 1 attention, be in a more secure environment and hopefully get something out of her education. And I'm ever hopefull that it'll have a knock on effect at home - if she's more settled there, she might be more settled here  ;) Fingers crossed.
We've still got rounds of appointments to go with ADHD and ASD assesments - but I feel like finally something's happening !

good for you and Kaitlin!
I'd have to say specialist education is great (it pays my wages!) and I hope it works out for your family.
Don't expect it to work out straight away, but hopefully as you say the secure environment and some specialist help will be just what is needed...

Wow fantastic news for you guys - its just what you needed.  It always helps to have something to work towards and I'm sure once she's settled it will make a huge difference at home.  The staff will have so much experience and ideas of how to handle her by this time next year you household will feel much calmer except of course that bump will have arrived!! ;D

Anyway very pleased for you.
