Hi all
I'm trying to decide what vehicle to buy and insurance, and for that matter TAX v. CO2 emissions, are coming into the equation.
I've had a play about on the van insurance price comparison websites and am quite shocked at how much they want. I haven't paid more than about 150quid for vehicle insurance in the last ten years so quotes c£360 are quite horrifying.
That leads to a few questions.
1. Are there "specialist" insurers that understand the market and are cheaper?
2. Are there some 4x4's that are cheaper to insurer than others? - For now I've looked at a 2000 Defender 110 and a Ford Ranger Thunder. I like the Ford but its much more expensive to insure that the LandRover.
3. Does my "job" description have any effect? Its difficult to define what I "do" as in reality, I'm just doing a bit of this, that and the other to make ends meet but the websites don't have such a category
I'm must confess that I'm a bit frustrated so any help from you folks would be much appreciated.
Regards
