on Orkney now - green flares every ten seconds
« on: February 24, 2014, 08:37:43 pm »
Hi all  Made it to Orkney and am park up on high lookout point with fantastic views of islands all round.  Camera batteries went and probs with both phones, but hope for good day tomorrow again.

Sitting here facing north with curtains back I can deffo see a glow above the horizon  so hopefully somthing later.

But every ten seconds or so in the distance a green flare goes off.  Does this mean someone is in trouble out at sea?

Lighthouse?  Or buoy?

Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
