Spam emails
« on: March 03, 2014, 10:52:20 am »
Hi all, is anyone else being bombarded with spam emails supposedly from BT telling them their Yahoo account is about to close  and you must complete further details so you won`t lose all your contacts and you need to update your profile, I am getting up to 6 a day, they are definitely not from BT as the senders name usually appears and I am sure that BT do not send anything out on any other ISP such as Talk Talk and with some very strange names. Ok so its very easy to delete, which I do but what do these saddo`s expect to get, apart from your password  RANT OVER

They're endless   We're getting lots supposedly from Paypal as well as BT.  And of course there's all the ones from banks for accounts we don't have.

Yes, me too. I also get several a day saying that the emails I sent could not be delivered, even when I haven't sent any. Not to mention the invites to sign up to a casino.

whenever you get these spam emails they are nearly always Dear sir / madam ...
Never Dear fred Bloggs  neither do the carry your account numbers .

Most big organisations are happy for you to forward the spam to them , once they acess the intent /problems it may cause them they pass it on to the  likes Norton or  kaspersky etc  who will adjust their protections & send it to your spam file in future times once they have identified high levels of traffic in the same manner of your email .

 Simply forward them to :-
spam@ bt.com   ....  or spam @ whatever bank or organisation it is.

We used to save up the spam messages and forward them off in groups when  we were getting hundreds per day to one of our business email addy's.

Mine do go to my spam folder but I check that daily as the occasional non-spam one gets in there too.
