registered soay, castlemilk moorit  and north ronaldsay sheep, pygmy goats, steinbacher geese, muscovy ducks, various hens, lots of visiting mallards, a naughty border collie, a puss and a couple of guinea pigs

When you put the tray back in watch there's no checks at teh far end - I've lost a couple that way - got stuck over the  edge.

Our last inclubated batch was on the kitchen table - not quite sure how hygenic - but became the centre of our world for a few days.  We watch the wet wobblers stumble out of their shells over lunch.  A truly wonderful experience for us all, and one that I would repeat annually as our daughters experience it quite differently as they get older.

Nature is a wonderful teacher - albeher (albeit in female form) rather cruel at times.

Keeping our fingers crossed here for you.

morning update


5 chicks now ok in brooder


1 more egg looks promising,


Came down at 2 am to check on them and 1 silly chick had wandered off and got stuck away from the lamp so had chilled off quite a bit, back under lamp soon recovered and is fine this morning, glad i got up though!!!
