Happy Birthday
« on: June 17, 2012, 03:41:56 pm »
Hi,

Just wanted to share with you that my dear old labrador, Toby, has just made it to his 16th birthday! He has lived a very exciting life, and cheated death a couple of times.   :o

His eyesight is poor and hearing fading, but we have just walked down the field to the barn and he 'woofed' at the cats :cat: (who snootily ignored him).  After a rest in the sun, we both staggered back up the 75' hill to the house and he is having an afternoon nap ;) .  His only medication is a small dose of Metacam to keep him comfortable.
This is the dog I was not allowed to use for work  ::) (trainer thought they were 'ploddy'), and he has outlived my 3 working spaniels.  They were kennelled and he has always lived in the house.

Happy birthday Toby from me and old Fly (16yr old sheepdog).

We had a visit from a young male in tact labrador today and old Fly almost got giddy - she even attempted a bound to follow him home!

Here's to our lovely oldies  :bouquet:
