Hi,
Welcome to the forum  ;D
Try this link for info
http://www.smallholder.co.uk/news/927599.registering_a_holding/
In Scotland it's SEERAD you have to contact initially,
http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Agriculture the land may have a CPH number if it's been registered previously. If not they'll give you the forms you need to fill in.
Once you have your CPH number you'll need herd numbers for any livestock, again SEERAD will give you advice on this - good luck with it & let us know more about your plans  ;D

Well I would Like to put up a poly tunnel and try some chrysanths for my wifes shop and the usual veggies for eating and sell any surplus. I quite like the idea off willows for fencing and hobby use and pussy willow for the wifes shop too.As for animals we quite like the idea of hens for eggs.
Thatl do for a start I think.

My parents in law were in Newburgh this weekend. John's bought a spinning wheel so he can do something productive with our fleeces. He said there was a really good shop there with really nice people, who sell spinning / weaving / felting stuff. I can't remember the name though.
