Awwww you're so lucky Sandy, I so wanted Jess to have puppies. It looks like its never going to happen now sadly. I love puppies, they're one of the best things in the world.

Tidied out the linen cupboard. Was going to clear out but decided to wait until I've a better idea of what I'll use in the new house.

Well our day got of to a bad start with no water, OH and the farmer have found the problem so should get a shower this evening. As I have been mucking out deep litter I need one. Front of the stable barn is where i have my two yearling colts, it gives them plenty of room and in bad weather is ideal. I still have the other five stables, one being Pitstops and one converted for the chickens. In the bad weather the chickens get the free run of the barn during the day and the ponies seem not to be bothered. they lay eggs in Pitstop's hay rack so he does not touch hay in it all day, i have to feed him hay from the ground if the weather means he cannot get out. As the paddocks have all been flooded the colts are in the small one next to the stables where the pigs were all summer, i was surprised at just how quickly it recovered. also mucked out the field shelter today, I gave the two colts on the hill field a straw bed on top of their rubber mats in the shelter when it became very cold. I know I am far too soft as being Shetlands they have nice thick coats but I sleep better knowing they have a warm dry bed to sleep on.  ;D :horse:

I mucked out too today. Cut 4 goats feet last night, mucked out Buttercup and Comet's pen this morning, and went and fetched a big bale of hay. Am going to appease the OH for having to go to work yesterday and probably next weekend by going to see Sherlock Holmes tonight. Must try and cut more feet. Looking for a recipe for moussaka just now.

Did some clicker training with the pup, Allez and Belle joined in - all three sitting to command and also to whistle - but will he remember tomorrow..............................  My cousin phoned to borrow a dog fro a walk so I said she could borrow me too and Allez, Morag and me struggled round Gartmorn Dam - it's still pretty well frozen water and the paths are extremely treacherous so glad I had John's walking pole with me.  Allez hasn't had a good run for weeks so he was predictably disobedient, but had a tremendous time hunting.  I was a bit worried he might go on the ice to chase the ducks but since most of them were down at the entrance looking for food he didn't try.
Donald was here finishing off the kennel popholes so we all had a sandwich then I took some more shots of the pup.

Yes, at one point we felt like turning back but it would have been just as bad.  needs another 2 weeks like this to clear enough for safe walking.

Rosemary, whatever you throw out you will need. We had a small house and threw away loads of stuff as we moved into rented did not want to take excess with us, then we got this house and I had to buy stuff like I had thrown out, e.g, we had a full size tin bath, I loved that and did think it may be handy but took it to the tip as it took up space, then, as soon as we moved in we wanted to bath the dogs and so I got a small one from freecycle...I now have loads of surplus stuff and although we have a big house we cannot stor stuff in the bedrooms as they are not like ours....I suggest you just throw out ripped or broken stuff and keep everything else!
