They cr*p in holes in the ground. Rule Britannia!

No they don't. That’s the stinking Gypos we have to put up with in this country!

That's outrageous!  >:( Racism is alive and well in Englandshire.
If hating Gypos/Pikies is racist, then yes I am, Big Time!
Here at the farm and at the factory they cost me £1000’s a year with their thieving and fly tipping.
They blatantly break every law of the land whilst at the same time demanding every state hand out they can get their thieving hands on.
If ever there was a case for group extermination, then they are at the top of my list.
No doubt there are some politically correct do gooders that think this is a bit strong but I bet they have never had to put up with these low life scumbags!

tuggers, you are entitled to your opinion on travellers and gypies, as everyone is entitled to there own opinion on everything in life, my opinion on travellers and gypies is as i have said before there are good and bad in every society, i bet some of your fly tipping is done by normal townie folk as seems to be the case across the country, with tips now charging for certain vehicles and certain rubbish folk wont pay so they tip elsewhere, there are townie folk that steal and thieve just as with travellers and gypies,

please do not tar every traveller and gypsy with the same brush

they are human beings at the end of the day

Of course it's racist. Why would anyone hate others from a different culture and expect that to be acceptable? 'Group extermination', you say, eh?...I don't think that would worry too many gypsy/travellers as they have experienced plenty of attempts at their extermination in the past. Indeed, they are still being moved on and have no rights to speak of even today.

In a (probably) vain attempt to educate you on the differences between the morals of the gypsies and  those of the country hantle who hate them so, I suggest you consider such aspects as the drunken behaviour of non-gypsy women and girls, and their attendant entourage of salivating drunken louts, in towns and cities just about any night of the week, not to mention the mess left by them for others to clear up every day. Gypsy girls would never behave that way lest they bring disgrace upon their families. They won't let a drop of alcohol touch their lips until they are married. Nor will they indulge in indescriminate sex either before or after marriage.

The behaviour of non-gypsy males when cavorting around in some foreign resort, binge-drunk, simulating sex in the street with their mates, running in loud-mouthed mobs in their pathetic efforts to attract some loose tart into spending a night with them, would be frowned upon by gypsy men and boys. Oh, they get drunk alright, and they fight amongst themselves, but they still have self-pride and a sense of self-respect.

I have been to Appleby and Ballinasloe fairs and I have associated with gypsies and travellers for a long time. I have to say I feel safer in their company than I have in any town or city at night. I have worked in public houses where I made it clear that travellers could have a quiet drink like anyone else as long as they behaved themselves, and I never had any trouble.

Imagine what it must be like to be always on the back foot, wondering if you'll be moved on, trying to lead your life and look after your own in the knowledge that you are not welcome anywhere, your women are verbally abused in the streets, and your children are hated and victimised at school.

As a Scot, I have no difficulty identifying with oppression and being bullied by self-righteous and belligerent neighbours. Perhaps, for the gypsies, the boot has been laced onto the other foot and the gorgio are just getting the kick up the arse they deserve. It's only fair after all, you know...what goes around, comes around. :P

I am very disappointed that a light-hearted topic such as the upcoming royal wedding should have led to such vicious racist comments as tuggers1956 has expressed. TAS is a friendly and all-encompassing group and that kind of comment leaves a very sour taste.
Thank you AengusOg for your well-reasoned response.

Some of my closest 'mummy friends' from our children's school are travellers and I am very proud to say this. Their children are extremely respectful to adults, the best friends my daughters could wish for and the mums do NOT tolerate any bad language. In fact one of the mums and I recently went to school to complain that a non-traveller child had been calling mine and her children the most abusive names including F and C words - aged 8!! traveller mum, and I quote, said "If my son said that I'd have the soap in his mouth." she went on to say "why's it ok to have us called F'ing pikey scum?its not like I go round calling the people here f'ing council house scum is it?!"
Please do NOT tar everyone withthe same brush. My dad used to run an engineering company, swarf and scrap was stolen all the time and it was never the gypsy or travelling community, always some local low life of non-gypsy background  >:(

it would be good to hear if you have ever taken the time to get to know a gypsy or traveller? I bet you haven't.

Oh, yes and a big box of tissues  ;D

Dan and I were in Chester years ago and as we passed a church in the city centre, a wedding party was coming out. There was me all teary - I think Dan thought he'd met a right eejit - I'd never clapped eyes on the folk before and never would again. At least I know who Wills and Kate are, even if they didn't invite me.

Aww Rosemary, I do that whenever I have to visit anyone in hospital - if we have a cup of tea in the cafe, its right by the doors and you see all the new parents with their tiny newborns in carseats ready to go home for the first time. I'm blubbing!! that's why I had to stop midwifery training and opted for gynae instead  ::)

Ian, coming to watch me cry - that's bad. Actually, you could see that any day. Think it must be the old hormones - the news, birds singing, photos of lambs  ;D, adverts with puppies and small children, clips on youtube. It doesn't take much!

Yeah, plums, gynae probably doesn't have the same emotional heave  ;D
