Well, the daily posts have certainly fallen by the wayside and I have no idea what's happened to the weekend, Monday and Tuesday.
Well, actually, yesterday was easy. It was my birthday, so we had the day off and went for lunch at Pig Halle in Perth. If you get a chance to go, do. The food is very good - but best to book to avoid disappointment. I had lambs kidneys in a mustard sauce to start, followed by braised pork belly, pakchoi and rice, then a blueberry, vanilla and raspberry mousse affair. Dan had pig's trotter in filo pastry with hazlenuts, followed by the chef's wee selection of desserts and coffee. Then we popped round to the attached deli for some walnut bread and some macaroons. Yum.
On Sunday, we went to see "How to Train your Dragon 2" - brilliant apart from the voice "talent" of Cate Blanchett, who's Scottish accent wandered across the Irish Sea and then to somewhere in the former Eastern Bloc. I know our social life itn't smallholding but it's helping me fill the empty space in my head :-)
We picked the blackcurrants on Monday; made some cordial and froze 18lb for jam and more cordial. Dan cut and split the wood from the golf course and the sycamore Duncan brought us. We moved the ewes and lambs, the chookmobile and the cows, but that was a five minute job.
Oh, how could I forget! Dan took the tractor and mower to our rented grazing on Saturday, topped all the paddocks then had a puncture on the way home. On the A92. On a Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, the nice man from McConechy's was able to come down from Laurencekirk and repair it - no new parts required, so hopefully the bill won't be too deadly.
Oops, confession time - the hand milking of Annie has kind of fallen by the wayside. She likes Rosie better than me :-( Our vet suggested jagging her with oxytocin to secure milk letdown but nah.
Need to get Annie and Rosie in now to get ready for Kirrie Show on Saturday. I woke at 5am today wondering where our white show coats were, but I found them in the linen cupboard. Rosie's not had a halter on yet, but she's still small enough to bully :-)

Thanks, Wanda and lovely to hear from you. Hope you and the family are well - and that the fires give you a wide berth :-)
The men haven't reached the States yet but Mark is planning to ride the Great Divide next year. I doubt if Dan will do it, but he might do part.
