Hi,

My name is Anthony, 31 and im in sunny(!?) Cornwall! I have wanted my own smallholding for as long as I can remember but unfortunatly the prices of land and property in this part of the country are very high so that idea will have to wait for a while! In the meantime me, my partner Sonia and our mischevious Collie, Blue are going to rent approx 4 acres of land and keep poultry, pigs, goats and grow our own veg. 

We have been busy planning what we are going to grow and keep, just waiting untill the end of the month when we can make it happen! Being a typical bloke I have already bought my tractor, a Ford 1200 to play with (boys and toys eh!!!).

Some of our questions may be a bit random but please bear with us!

If there is anyone else from cornwall on here feel free to shout!

I'm in Worcestershire and we have a smallholding with chickens, goats, breeding guinea pigs, rabbits and a shed load of cats (oh anda noisy parrot)
we make goats milk soap as well as plum wine from our toolargetohandle orchard - all good fun!

enjoy your tractor!! my husband is desperate for one (he is also an antony but no h!) first he needs to sell his VW camper and I have to sell my MGF -  remnants of our former life.

Hi from a cold grey St.Andrews in Fife. I'm quite new to this too. I've only got chickens,  lurchers (one called Blue), 2 cats & a budgie. I run an animal minding/pet sitting business but only locally so no help to you I'm afraid! Enjoy the site

Goats milk soap....that sounds interesting, Sonia has been thinking of making her own soap as she is alergic to scented products, could be an idea!! Only one tractor at the moment but im busy making all sorts of impliments for it!!

Looks like I'm going to get into soap making then!  Ah well - I'm a bit of an amateur aromatherapist as well so it may be nice to combine the two ideas...

PLEASE don't encourage him John - trust me he doesn't need any more toys!  (He's only mentioned the tractor so far - we actually need the land we're getting as storage for all his stuff!!  )

Hi to both of you from West Cornwall.
We're near Redruth and keep Shetland sheep, chickens, only two ducks (due to fox) and two flatcoated retrievers.  Welcome to the smallholding world!
