« on: July 18, 2010, 03:29:33 pm »
i got 4 pigs 3 days ago, 12 week old strong pigs, iv noticed one of them , slightly stiff and a bit more lazy than the rest, slower to get up etc,but still eating and drinking, i rang the vet and he suggested stress or maybe the beginning of a joint infection, and  the injection stuff i have is the right stuff, any suggestions??

keep a close eye on it!!
could be meningitus...tends to affect pigs of this age group
i will look up a link of syptoms for you. we had a young boar much the same...he was very ill the next day.
we injected for 5 days and kept him arm with a quilt, fortunatly he survived, but his chances were only 50/50

here is a link

our pig started by being stiff, then a bit lame in his back leg, and hanging his head to the side, by mid afternoon he was laid on his side... he was a luck pig!!!
