Sorry to hear that Gary. As others have said you need to take the warning on board and do what you can to slow things down and look after yourself. My brother didnt get a warning - he died of a heart attack aged 54.
Get well soon.
Val :)

Hi firstly hope you enjoy a full recovery. Haven't spoken to you before on here, relatively new here, so I hope I don't over step the mark.

I worked my but off till I got my shocker. leaving home at 3:30am and returning home around 8 or 9 at night six days a week, because I had too, because I had to meet the bills, because I had to ensure my family were OK. In the end what ever you don't think can change; will, wheather you want it to or not, your body WILL make the choice for you, if you don't.
Ive had 3 strokes now, completely buggered and now my missus looks after me most of the time; bless her heart. I understand the pressures, the bills, the wondering what the hell would happen without the money, how the hell its going to work out etc.

You look after you, for you and for those who love you.

Take care, get well soon.

Good morning Gary .We hope you are feeling better and on the mend.I don't know what the weather is like where you live but here in Gy it had a lovely gentle rain all day on Monday and the temperature dropped from 33C to 18 C lovely must be all the plants and weeds look alert revived and refreshed yesterday when it didn't rain but was cloudy and overcast all day and still 18C smashing.Made me feel like a new chap for a wee while ;D I think the weather may be returning to summer its already 17C and bright sun.I shall water the plants and stay indoors and finish off the few walnuts I didn't get done and put them in a different pail don't want to mix them. The others have a three day start in the brine.I have made some Raspberry vinegar for the suet pudds in the winter and some cordial plus a few in the jars and pressure cooked them as fruit for trifle.I hope Roy lets me have a few more as the end is in sight and I shall make some jelly cannot stand jam the seeds get in my gappy old teeth and cause much annoyance. There will be a few kidney beans ready for Sunday So it will be Roast beef Kidney beans Cauliflower cheese carrots and Home Guard new potatoes even if its 30c cannot miss the first kidney beans of the season my favourite vegetable. So there you are thats what I expect to happen in Gy.Get well soon George and Kath :D :farmer:

Sorry to hear about your fright. As has been said above, this has been a warning. Slow down, throw out of your life what you can do without, at least for a while. Who will feed your birds if you drop dead?!!!! :(

Perhaps your birds have taken over your life, Gary.  Maybe now is the time to sell them on.  My dogs are my life and I'll keep them as long as I can, but if that happened to me I would be forced to rethink as I wouldn't be able to look after them.  Think about it.  But don't worry about it or you'll give yourself another heart attack.

I know we are all being concerned and caring for Garys welfare and health, and saying slow down, reduce the workload etc.  Yes, that is what he should do.  BUT .....I can imagine some of us are doing the same number of hours, slogging day and night to make enough money to live on. Its part of our lifestyle, and is very hard when you are told to change.

I have had health problems over the past few years, and the doctor told me to take things easier.  I tried for a while, changed jobs, reduced working hours, but then increased them again, and got more animals etc.  Then a few weeks ago I started to realise, I was doing an 18 hour day, and still not doing everything I was supposed to.  I had to make the decision to part with my much loved goats. It was heartbreaking, and has affected me badly.  I only did it to try and reduce the workload and safeguard my health.  And guess what?  I am still out 18 hours a day.

Just how do you get someone to change their life, unless they get that wakeup call, Gary has just had?
