pale comb
« on: June 14, 2010, 10:32:09 pm »
One of my pekin bantams (Janice) has been broody for ages! Must be around 5 or 6 weeks... I turf her out of the nest when I am home (I work) and she spends a little time gobbling food before heading back to the nest. I remove any eggs ( the very few that there are these days - one a day if I'm lucky!) pretty quickly.
I have noticed that when she does end up with the others outside she is a bit "apart" - no longer part of the gang! In fact the others are starting to peck and bully her.
I also noticed her comb is kind of orange rather than red - also the skin around her eyes and the bit under the chin whatever thats called! - ??? ??? pretty pale for her- what is causing this do you think and what can I do about it?
Thanks for any advice
