I have a retired section D an Irish sport horse and an Irish draught. Currently looking for a ID mare to breed from next year or a ID youngster to bring on but good ones with personality and looks are hard to come by  ::)

I have a small Highland pony stud - currently 17 of them  :o so have stopped breeding for a while til the youngstock are sold and am missing the foals but winter hay bills and 17 x farrier, wormer and vaccination bills at a time is not something I want to increase on right now!  I did have 20 at the start of the year so am moving in the right direction and one more is spoken for just waiting for the money to come through, but I think 8 would be a good number to aim for ;)

I know a couple of folk who use Highlands for forestry work and others who use them for gathering sheep or other working roles but mine are just breeding stock as I've not had the health and fitness to ride for a couple of years now.  I do think about driving and/or forestry/farmwork with them at some point but not where I am right now..

I'm a Highland Pony breeder too; currently 24 of them.  I've sold six (including two stallions) this year tho; trying to cut down a bit.  This is a late foal, born end of August; Ellister Islay Harvester.
