Seriously yummy lab pups
« on: July 05, 2016, 12:52:54 pm »
Despite wanting to keep them all, I have one bitch and one dog pup available from cracking litter of black Labradors born 23rd May.
Dam- Joyce’s Special Choice- hips 5-5 elbows- 0 eyes pass prcd-PRA and CNM clear. By FTW Garronpoint Ross of Drakeshead (FTCH Willowwyck Ruff x Garronpoint Little Dove) fantastic bitch used for beating, picking up, walked up shoot etc fast stylish yet steady.
Sire – FTAW Drakeshead Alfie  (FTCH Waterford Featherman x  FTW Denmark Drakeshead virgo ) hips 3-5  elbows- 0 eyes pass prcd-PRA and CNM clear
Pups will be hereditary prcd-PRA and CNM clear, KC Registered, vet checked wormed and microchipped
Working/competition homes preferred.
The pups have been brought up in the house and exposed to various noises during their first 6 weeks (vacuum, washing machine, gunshot, hammering, drilling, TV etc), been handled by young children from 3 weeks old, been for short car rides (end of the road and back weekly for 4 weeks) and are constantly exposed to things they may meet in later life (different floor surfaces, people with beards, high viz clothing, umbrellas etc) and met and socialised with the other household dogs, cat, sheep and chickens. They have now been moved from the house up to the kennel where they are clean throughout the day (let out every 3 hours for an hour play) and toileting in the run at night. They are still in and out of the house as well. We have done our best to give these pups the best start and are now looking to find the best possible homes for them.

They are utterly umptious! I'm going to be heartbroken to say bye to any of them. This is the little girl we are keeping, looking really rather tiny in their kennels!

Oh my god, cuteness overload. That second one reminds me of my Black Lab when he was a pup, it was all about the ball!

The first of these little guys is going this weekend. Very mixed feelings. I know that they need more one on one attention now, but I don't want to see them go. We have really checked out the new owners and are confident that they will have the happiest lives possible, but it's still difficult. They have been my entire life for the last 8 weeks!
The last two are still for sale, which is getting worrying now as they will be 8 weeks old this weekend. I am not sure what is putting people off this litter, their parents are fully health tested, and well bred, or if its just the wrong time of year (holiday season)?
It is frustrating as we had so many enquiries before we had her mated and 3 of these have given back word (without seeing the pups) due to 1) holiday, 2) too recently lost another dog 3) bad back/not the right time to take a pup on.
While I'd be more than happy to keep 3 pups, we also have a spaniel pup from my stud dog coming next week and I don't think we can dedicate the one-on-one time that each pup will need as well as training/exercising four adult dogs.
We have 2 people coming to see the pups at the weekend, so hopefully I am worrying about nothing.

Could you send me a pm giving price for the pups and your approximate location. They sound lovely. Father lost one of his working labs not long ago and will give him details. He was talking yesterday about a new pup.

Well done, No-one could do better than this.  If I wanted a Lab I'd come to you first!

Thanks Doganjo x A couple came today to collect a pup and brought their local 'gundog expert' to vet us. I was very proud that he said it was the best litter he'd seen and they were a credit to us. Still no good if no one comes to see them though!

All sold- phew! We were rather picky and said no to a few people - mainly because they worked full time and we couldn't see how it could work. We are really pleased with all the homes we have found for them and know they are all going to have the great lives they deserve.
We had planned on keeping one bitch and also getting a bitch pup back from a litter my little spaniel had sired. I visited the spaniel pups this week and while they are simply gorgeous, I just didn't love them the way I love our babies who we have watched from first breaths to first steps etc. When I got home that night, my little lab pup known as "Green" (wears the green collar!) looked at me in the way he has done since the day his little eyes opened and I realised I would be daft to sell him and bring in a pup from elsewhere.
Needles to say "Green" is staying :-) He has not left my side since I told him and he's now called Edward.
Now the fun begins! He says he might start a blog to share his adventures in this big new world!

#Jukes Mum - what a great idea!  I look forward to that!  :excited:

Wish my Missy had started a blog when she took over MY life!  I keep telling myself that at 72 and with an immune system disorder (which I keep hoping they'll get sorted) I shouldn't even consider having another litter, let alone keep a pup, but .........................  watch this space!  At least the hips are all Ok and they're both healthy so we'll see what happens - will my head or my heart rule?  :innocent:

In the meantime - photos of Edward? (A nice strong, proud name for a Labrador!
