Hi
I am a famers daughter but have never farmed mysellf (and my dad farms beef). I amwanting to get a ewe with lambs at foot. I am wanting to then take the ewe to slaughter for my own meat.
1) is this possible
2) how old does the ewe need to be
3) what paper work do i need and how much will it cost?

1. yes but odd to do it that way. the mums are better and more productive after there first lambing.
2. some of ours got served at a year old. no problems with lambing but not all were perfect mums. 2 year old shearings are better.
3. you will have a holding number so you just need a flock number. no cost for the paperwork.
you will need to decide what breed and how many and where your going to source them from.
