Hey! Cheers for the welcome! :-)
The allotment I have is a good long strip but can't keep livestock on it and is a little from the house. but, am managing to grow 300 onions, 6 dreels of tatties (Red Duke of York, Winston, Kestrel, Shetland Black, Sante & Pentland Javelin), Runner Beans, French Beans, carrots, cabbage, strawberries, raspberries, white/red/black currants, gooseberry, loganberry, monster pumpkin, peas and sweet peas. *phew* No wonder I have no time. Have tried to limit weeding with black plastic that has helped a bit. Would love to get hold of some land where I could put up a larger greenhouse to try and grow more through the winter as well as keep chickens. Though not in the greenhouse, you understand! Hehehehe. Back garden is too small... one raised bed and a greenhouse... so the allotment is a must for me!
Anyway, living in Perth and yes - ground is absolutely of a premium though houses have stopped selling here... no matter what Reporting Scotland tries to tell you! Annoying thing is our allotment is under threat because they want to build houses on the golf course and our allotments become the access road!
Would be a shame. Not for a while yet though, hopefully.
Any help and pointers greatfully accepted! Am loving the site and can see me being a regular visitor!
