earth hour
« on: March 27, 2010, 08:20:42 pm »
Getting ready - all lights off except one, that and the TV will go off from 8.30 until 9.30.  Laptop will stay on as it is on battery power now, but I feel I'll have done my bit.

Happens every year so you can do it next year - Or do it tonight instead.  It is to try to save an hour's electricity in every home in the world, and make people aware of the energy they are using.  Just think about it.

I dont need to think about it Annie When the public authorities start to save electricity I will be more interested :farmer:

That is a typical answer - no offence intended, George.  "If they do it I'll do it."  But if we do it first then they might sit up and take notice.

To be fair most of the big cities do switch off a lot of lights for earth hour, including a lot of big landmarks that are usually all lit up.

We switched off everything last night, played a board game by candlelight and had a wee drink!

OK be facetious if you like, but some people think it's worth doing. Including me.
