My first and probably only thread in the Crafts section!
After a few months of running around with my sheep stuff in an old licky bucket, I figured a proper box was in order. However, I really didn't fancy a plastic B&Q affair as I wanted something sturdy to sit on whilst waiting for lambs to appear, etc etc.
Luckily a few hours and a surplus floorboard produced this!:
OK, it's hardly the work of a master cabinet maker, but it's functional enough. The lid flips down to reveal my sheepy toolkit, and doubles as a handy shelf to rest things on and keep them clean between sheep.
I'm sure the contents will develop over time, but at the moment I've got a variety of lotions and potions, foot clippers, hoof brush, dagging shears, disposable gloves, syringes and a wee sharps bin for safe disposal of used needles. (I make no apology for the paddington notebook - I've had it since I was five, but could never find an important enough use for it during childhood, so....)
There is one concession to adulthood built in too
, along with some hooks for hanging it...
.... from the nearest gate, sheep hurdle or radiator to keep everything out of the mud while I work.
So my question now is apart from a cold beer or two, what else have I forgotten to put in there?
