Footvax - an update!
« on: June 18, 2014, 04:31:28 pm »
After changing the anti-biotic to Penstrep the lamb's fever began to subside fairly quickly but what looked more and more like neurological symptomscontinued and actually became worse.  The vet has now diagnosed an abscess deep in the neck muscle which shows no exterior signs - but it must be pressing on the spinal chord.  It would explain the knuckling walk and unsteady gait - and rigid neck.  She can't turn one way.  Hopefully a long course of Penstrep will sort her out eventually.  It's not certain but there is some hope. Thank you to all who have commented and helped.
