Could you not buy a cheap touring caravan , one of those 20+ footers , and find somewhere to plant it for a few weeks Sandy ?

That is one option that may be possible, then I will have to store it...although one of the houses we like has a big enough space for one......I know there are a few going cheap this time of  year and once on a site it should be fine.....I wish we had our camper...in fact when we moved to rented up in Scotland we did live in our VW for a night and a day until our rental was ready......!!!
We may only need some where for 2 or 3 weeks so its a consideration, that way I can drive our home to meet my husband from work :innocent:  not sure I fancy camping in the centre of Glasgow though.....we are nice and clean, may shed a few hairs and smell of dogs  a bit!!

There's the caravan site at Millhall at Stirling, it seems to be residential as I've only noticed statics on it, not sure if they allow pets though. May be worth phoning round and seeing if you can get a few weeks in rented property though. Must be holiday cottages locally who allow dogs can't see them being busy at this time of year.

Well things are falling into place as the house we love they need to move into their new home in 3 weeks too so win win, we also may get a small camper van again, it will be good for us to nip off to the highlands etc, I have been looking at dog friendly accommodation and found it strange that some take 1 dog some take 2 some take 3 and some 5.......!! But all appears to  be fitting nicely into place but we will certainly miss this lovely wonderful house......first job in the new house will  be an open fire and not a log burner!!

But you are clever and  handy VF...this time of year there are loads of cheaper motor homes around...I fancy something the size of a big van  with basic stuff in but room for the dogs....hope to travel much more when free from this B*&B

Yes...if  you have nice neighbours, :innocent: that like fresh eggs.  I often look after our neighbours hens,,,,all they need is water and feed and if the person lives next door than even better..the house we like should be OK but if/when we go away for weeks at a time our in laws will look after the dogs and the house as they come up often to see their grandchildren, my brother and sister in law and children live near as well so ideal...we could never leave anyone looking after this house!

Your sale is confirmed though, I presume, since it's not long to the entry date, so just some signing of papers and you're off.  Presumably the purchase is also secured on the new house so again just some signing to do.  Good luck with the move, worst job is sorting, discarding what you don't have room for and packing the rest..  I got packers on when I moved here, best thing I ever did.  No hassle - all I had to do was sort out my animals and birds.  :relief:
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
