Any hygiene specialists know what type of wood would you have to use to make them?

nice little site above , with loads of info on antique butter making kit.  I made some butter hands years ago , I think I used Beech ?? but I may have use Ash or Maple/Sycamore . Still alive so far so can't be that bad for you !! I still have some kitchen spatulas/spoons etc that I made 30 years ago , so they do last . I used to make kitchen tools and love spoons .. I sold them to the local shops for £2-£5 each ... The American tourists found out where I lived and paid £5-£20 each ...guess who I sold more too...?? One American , must have been a dealer, bought all I had one day , over £600 and that was 30 odd years ago. Mind you even then , it was very hard to make any money making them , I just liked making them , walking sticks too.

Thats an amazing site - been ages on it.

It is interesting the way the butter churn was developed over the years for one person, two, different paddles and wider bottomed glass jars - the tables are amazing too.

Have saved it to favourites cause forgot to make supper for Tara
